Meet the Team!
Mrs. Bryant was born in Pontiac, Michigan, but has lived here in central Virginia since the 1970s. She attended school in Campbell County and received her teaching degree from Lynchburg College. Mrs. Bryant has been happily married to Buster Bryant for forty-three years, and together they have raised four lovely daughters, Jamie, Haley, Kasey, and Whitney. Their family has grown to include three sons-in-law and six grandchildren, four of which attend schools in Campbell County. Mrs. Bryant enjoys listening to music while taking long walks, gardening, reading, and going to the beach with her family. She has also enjoyed teaching fifth graders for twenty-two years and is so happy to be a part of the LRES family.
Mrs. Boyer grew up in Virginia beach and received her teaching degree from East Carolina University in 1990. She taught both fourth and fifth grade for over twenty-six years in various locations in Virginia and North Carolina. Forest, Virginia is where she currently resides with her parents, husband of thirty-one years, Dave, and son, Jonathan. Her oldest son, Joshua, and his wife Hannah live in Oakboro, NC with their children, Luke and Emery. Blue and Bella are her spoiled rotten miniature schnauzers. Although Mrs. Boyer loves living in the mountains, she prefers the pounding waves of the ocean. She enjoys singing, reading, and playing with her grandchildren. Mrs. Boyer is very thankful to be a part of the fifth-grade team at LRES.
Ms. Martin has been a fifth grade teacher at LRES for over twenty years. Before coming to LRES, she taught seventh grade at Amherst Middle School for three years. She has lived in Lynchburg her whole life and is a graduate of Heritage High School. Ms. Martin has a Bachelor’s Degree from Longwood University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Virginia. She and her family members are avid UVA fans and attend many baseball, football, and basketball games throughout the year. She has two children. Her son, Caden, works full full time and takes classes at CVCC, and her daughter, Cami, is a junior at BHS. When not at a sporting event, Ms. Martin enjoys exercising and traveling with her family and friends to different places.
Mrs. Pfenninger has taught for over twenty-five years. She has taught in the states of Ohio, Texas, Florida, and Maryland before moving to Virginia in 2019. This is Mrs. Pfenninger's 13th year teaching fifth grade, and she loves teaching and preparing students for middle school. She has been married to her husband, Arlen, for 38 years. They have four grown children Jonathan, Abigail, Noah and Jackson. They also have two lovely daughters-in-law and five beautiful granddaughters. Beatrice, the family's Goldendoodle, plays an important role in their family too. Mrs. Pfenninger and her family are big Disney fans and she enjoys cooking, baking, traveling and exploring historical places.
Mrs. Mantiply is a graduate of Lynchburg College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She grew up in Campbell County and graduated from Brookville High School. Mrs. Mantiply will be entering her 15th year of teaching. She was one of the lucky few that virtually taught at our own Campbell County Virtual Learning Academy. She believes in building lasting relationships with her students and creating a positive environment in her classroom. In her free time she enjoys going to concerts, watching movies, enjoying water activities and camping with her husband and two children, Nitrous and Shelby. They love to attend car shows and drag strips as they are a car loving family.
