Mrs. Bell - She grew up in Lynchburg, where she attended Tomahawk Elementary School and later became a Brookville Bee Alumni.   Upon graduation, Brittany Bell attended Christopher Newport University for a year and a half before transferring to Longwood University where she majored in Elementary Education and has an EL Endorsement.  She has been at LRES since 2014; teaching Kindergarten.  In Mrs. Bell's spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, husband, and her two children, Wyatt and Adalynn.

 

Ms.Fanney  - Ms. Fanney was born in Lynchburg. She attended Brookville High School, and went on to receive her BA and Masters in Education from Lynchburg College. She has been teaching since 1995. Mrs. Fanney spends her free time with her 2 daughters.

 

Miss Moon - Miss Moon, a 2010 Radford University graduate.  She began teaching kindergarten at LRES in 2012. She previously taught first grade at LRES and was a substitute for a while as well.  She grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Virginia when she was 12.  I have two cats, named Rupert and Bandit.  Every summer, she travels to Sebago Lake, Maine to relax and spend time with her family.

 

Mrs. Peters-Mrs. Peters grew up in Cleveland Ohio and graduated from Cleveland State University in 2002. In 2004 she married her husband Aric and moved to Virginia. She has taught with Campbell County Schools for 20 years. She taught 5 years at Brookneal Elementary School in Second grade and 15 years at Concord Elementary School in Kindergarten. She has two children, Aiden who attends Brookville High School, Addilyn who attends Brookville Middle School and a Westie named Abbie Rose who is 2 years old. In her free time she loves to cook and try new recipes and loves to travel and explore new cities. She also loves to decorate for all of the holidays and go to antique and vintage stores. 

 

Mrs. Brown- Mrs. Brown grew up in Raleigh, NC. She graduated from LU with her bachelors in Elementary Education in 2012 and went on to earn her Masters of Education with endorsements in both Reading Specialist and ELL specialist. She previously taught first grade as well as Title 1 Reading in Lynchburg City Schools before having children of her own. She was blessed to stay home for six years with her three children: Nora, Mabel, and Oakley. She joined the LRES family in 2023 and two of her children are little Bees as well! She enjoys spending time with friends, working out, and homemaking.  

 

Mrs. Shaw is a paraprofessional at Leesville Road Elementary School, where she just completed her fourth year working with kindergarten students. While she initially pursued a career as a legal assistant, Elise found her true passion in education and loves supporting young learners. She enjoys working alongside some of her best friends on the kindergarten team. Outside of school, Elise loves fitness, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Brandon, their children, Salem and Hunter, and their two dogs Kreacher and Gryff.
