Ms Mays: Miss Mays was born and raised in Lynchburg and is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. This is her second year teaching, and she has prior experience Student Teaching in 3rd and 4th grade. She loves getting to share her passion and excitement for teaching and watch her students' passion for learning grow and develop! In her free time, she loves spending time with her fiance, her family and friends, singing, and cooking/baking.
Mrs. Porter-Mrs. Porter is beginning her second year as a classroom teacher at LRES. She student taught with Mrs. Pfenninger in the fall of 2023 and then transitioned into a remediation position in the spring of 2024. She graduated from Liberty University and is currently working on her Masters of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction. She has experience with both fourth and fifth grade at LRES. Mrs. Porter recently married her husband, Philip, in December of 2023. They both live in Lynchburg with their cat, Otis. Mrs. Porter grew up in Hillsville, Virginia with her parents and two older brothers. Growing up, Mrs. Porter was surrounded by musical instruments, bluegrass music, and begin playing the fiddle at age six. When she is with her family or missing home, she always listen to bluegrass music. Mrs. Porter now has two Nephews, Elias and Jude, that she loves visiting. When Mrs. Porter isn’t teaching her amazing fifth graders, she is typically playing tennis or the piano, spending time with her family, and hanging out with her friends.
Ms. Bonner- Ms. Bonner has been teaching at Leesville Road Elementary School for seven years, and she absolutely loves being part of this community. She graduated from Brookville High School and earned her degree in Elementary Education from Ferrum College. When Ms. Bonner is not teaching, you can usually find her traveling, relaxing at the beach, or spending time with her family, Robbie and Bentley. They are huge UVA fans and go to every football game—Go Hoos! She can’t wait for a wonderful year of learning and growing together!
Mrs. Tetro-Mrs. Tetro was born and raised in New Jersey. She recently got married to her best friend from college. She graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelors in Developmental Psychology and a Masters in Elementary Education. Mrs. Tetro completed her student teaching in 3rd grade and then went on to teach a year of 4th grade at LRES. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, going to the beach, playing board games, cooking, and hiking.
Ms Bobbey :Ms. Bobbey is a graduate of Liberty University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Previously, she taught at a North Carolina school for six year as a Fourth grade teacher. During her schooling, Miss Bobbey fell in love with Virginia and its mountains. She tried to stay after graduating college, but found it was best to return to North Carolina. Miss Bobbey grew up in White Oak, North Carolina - a small rural town outside of Fayetteville. Fun Fact - her hometown only has a gas station, restaurant, and Post Office! In her spare time, Miss Bobbey can be found reading in a comfy chair with a hot cup of tea, hanging out with family or friends, or spending the day outside.
