Mrs. Thompson- This is Mrs. Thompson's second year with Campbell County Public Schools and first year at LRES. Last year, she taught third grade at Tomahawk Elementary, and before that she  spent 12  years teaching third grade at Appomattox Elementary School. She and her husband, Steve, have three adult children, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and a precious dog, Blu. When she's not at school, she enjoys gardening, walking, and spending time with her family.  

Mrs. Mays- Mrs. Mays was born and raised in Lynchburg and is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. This is her third year teaching, and she has prior experience Student Teaching in 3rd and 4th grade. She loves getting to share her passion and excitement for teaching and watch her students' passion for learning grow and develop! In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband, her family and friends, singing, and cooking/baking.

  Ms. Bonner-  Ms. Bonner has been teaching at Leesville Road Elementary School for eight years, and she absolutely loves being part of this community. She  graduated from Brookville High School and earned her degree in Elementary Education from Ferrum College. When Ms. Bonner is not teaching, you can usually find her traveling, relaxing at the beach, or spending time with her family, Robbie and Bentley. They are huge UVA fans and go to every football game—Go Hoos! She can’t wait for a wonderful year of learning and growing together!

Mrs. Jiovenetta- Mrs. Jiovenetta is so excited to be joining the LRES school family this year! This is her first year in the classroom, and she can't wait to learn and grow. Her greatest joy is spending time with her husband and baby boy - especially if it includes being outside (by the water!!) with an iced coffee in hand.

Ms. Meeks- Ms. Meeks is originally from North Carolina. and graduated from Liberty University in 2023. She was a teacher in North Carolina for three years teaching 2nd and 4th grade.  She feels blessed and honored to be at Leesville this year. Ms. Meeks loves spending time with her dog Maple Lee, watching movies and taking much needed naps. She is also a little addicted to coffee!
